For students entering grades 5 through 8.
What do you want to say to the world? What do you want to say to those close to you--or those who are strangers? What do you wish people could know about you, your experiences, your ideas?
Now, how do you want to let the world know? An advertisement or petition? An essay or letter? An editorial or review? Or could it be a speech, personal story, diary entries, lyrics? A letter, myth, or cartoon? What about the old stand-bys: poetry, short story, or play?
Get ready to work out those creative writing muscles and make sure the world hears you! Through a series of fun and challenging writing exercises that teach technique and allow for experimentation, participants will make their messages louder and louder--until their best work is published in a virtual flipbook (that they can share with friends and family) and then in The Prairie School literary and arts magazine Mindscape (tpsenglish.wix.com/tpsmindscape).
